At VACU, we recognize how vitally important it is that we provide the resources, knowledge, and insights — through events like the summit — that allow women to make informed financial choices and use financial products and services to their best advantage. As an in-person event, the summit also makes possible personal connection and engagement for a unique and rewarding experience for our participants.”Best-selling personal finance author and TV personality Tiffany “The Budgetnista” Aliche highlighted the summit and its full day of programming, which also included breakout sessions on AI-based personal finance tools, navigating financial challenges, and building a professional network to facilitate career advancement. Hosted in collaboration with the Virginia Commonwealth University Financial Success Center, the summit marked its second in-person event in Richmond, with VACU again offering attendance at no cost to participants.Knowing that childcare, a missed work day, and transportation might prove to be obstacles for some interested in attending the summit, VACU worked closely with local nonprofits and community partners to identify women who needed financial assistance to attend the event.More than 30 VACU staff members provided support for the summit or led education sessions. Seven partner organizations also participated as part of the summit’s Resource Fair, which connected attendees with resources to help them on their financial journeys. VACU also provided a $5,000 donation to the YWCA Richmond in support of the organization’s work, and attendees had the opportunity to create Survivor Kits to aid the YWCA’s efforts to help women who have escaped dangerous situations, including domestic violence and human trafficking.VACU and its Member One division will host a second Financial Success for Women Summit in 2025 — September 22 in Roanoke.
