Help / Privacy & Security MemberPassMemberPass is a security enhancement that will make identifying you easier, quicker, and more secure when you interact with GINI, our chat service on vacu.org. It’s a simple and secure replacement for identity verification questions that allows VACU to verify your identity and protect your accounts against identity theft and financial fraud.FAQsWhat is MemberPass?MemberPass is a digital ID verification stored on your smartphone that helps to protect you from identity theft and fraud. It provides secure authentication and eliminates the need for you to answer security questions while interacting with us on GINI, the chat service on vacu.org.Why is there a need for MemberPass technology? This technology will allow you to be verified/authenticated while in GINI, VACU’s chat option on vacu.org, so we can provide account-specific information while in the chat session. Authenticating you during a chat session provides a more comprehensive and secure member experience. How do I enroll? You will be able to enroll in MemberPass after speaking with a branch or contact center employee. Once fully verified through existing identification procedures and you agree to MemberPass enrollment, a link is sent via text message from (844) 973-4949 to finalize your enrollment. Can you enroll me without my permission? No, we must have your permission to enroll you in MemberPass. Enrolling you in MemberPass requires a secure token to be placed (between you and VACU) on your phone. It also requires that you set up biometrics if you do not already have it enabled on your phone during enrollment for authentication (for iPhone users you will also need to enable iCloud Keychain.).How am I authenticated using MemberPass technology?Once you are enrolled, and while in GINI, a VACU employee will send you an authentication text request. After the request has been accepted, you will be authenticated and we will be able to provide account information through GINI chat. How can I un-enroll in MemberPass? You can call our contact center or visit a branch to un-enroll from MemberPass. We must be able to fully identify you in order to un-enroll.
